7 Best Reddit Social Listening Tools in 2026

Reddit social listening is a monitoring purchase: will you catch the right post or comment, filter the noise, and get it to the right person in time? These seven tools answer that question in different ways.

7 Best Reddit Social Listening Tools in 2026

A brand mention rarely arrives as a neat tag. A customer may write your domain in a comment, misspell your product, ask for a competitor alternative, or describe the problem without naming either company. That makes Reddit monitoring a question of post and comment coverage, precise filters, and a delivery route someone will actually check.

This list focuses on listening and research. It compares how tools detect, filter, retain, and report conversations. If your main job is finding buyers and replying, see the separate Reddit marketing guide; if your main job is scheduling original posts, use a publishing tool. A broad social suite can be valuable, but its price is difficult to justify when all you need is an alert for a few subreddits.

We checked vendor documentation and public pricing on October 28, 2026. We did not run paid accounts, measure capture recall, or time live alerts ourselves. The quoted refresh times and coverage are vendor claims. Reddit’s commercial data rules are changing, so ask any vendor how it obtains access and what happens if that access changes.

The short answer

Syften is the best focused paid monitor for a small team because it documents Reddit posts and comments, query operators, subreddit targeting, archive search, and delivery routes. KWatch is the cheaper paid starting point for a structured watchlist. Reddit Pro is a free native baseline for eligible businesses. Octolens is the upgrade when Reddit is one of many community and social sources and the team needs API, webhooks, or MCP.

The ranked picks

1

Syften

Precise Reddit alerts and community filters

Syften website screenshot

Syften is the most purpose-built pick when Reddit posts and comments are the signal you cannot afford to miss. Its filter language can narrow to a subreddit, author, title, or post type and exclude recurring false matches before they reach your inbox.

The $29.95 Entry plan lists three community filters, 100 community results a day, and seven days of archive search. At $49.95, Standard raises the filter count to 20, adds AI filtering and Slack, and extends archive search to 30 days. The $119.95 Pro tier lists 100 filters, webhooks, MCP, and a full available archive. Every plan includes Reddit; X and YouTube are paid add-ons on higher plans. Syften says its target delivery is under a minute, but we did not independently time it. A useful setup starts with separate filters for your exact brand, domain, competitor, and buyer-question phrases; put exclusions on noisy phrases only after reviewing actual matches.

Why it made the list

  • Documents post and comment coverage and subreddit-level filters
  • Transparent filter, result, and archive limits
  • Email, Slack, API, webhook, and MCP routes by tier

Watch the trade-off

Entry has just three community filters and no AI filtering or Slack. Vendor-stated alert speed and coverage were not independently tested.

2

KWatch

A budget keyword watchlist with thread tracking

KWatch website screenshot

KWatch gives a small team an inexpensive path from two free Reddit alerts to a larger filtered watchlist. It is especially useful when you want to watch particular conversations after the original keyword match, rather than relying only on a one-time notification.

The free tier lists two Reddit keyword alerts and two Hacker News alerts, without filtering or tracked conversations. Essential at $19 monthly lists 20 Reddit keywords, two tracked Reddit conversations, filtering, saved results, and AI analysis. Business at $79 monthly raises those numbers to 100 keywords and ten conversations and adds Slack, API, webhooks, and MCP. Those plan boundaries are important: a founder who only needs email alerts can remain cheap, but a team routing matches into its own workflow pays for Business. KWatch also offers more networks, yet its Reddit allowance is separately stated, making it easier to budget than a generic pooled mention count.

Why it made the list

  • Two free Reddit keyword alerts
  • Clear keyword and followed-conversation allowances
  • Filtering on Essential and integrations on Business

Watch the trade-off

The free plan has no filtering, and integrations start at $79 monthly. The vendor’s own alert speed should be validated during a trial.

3

Reddit Pro Trends

Free native research and conversation trends

Reddit Pro Trends website screenshot

Reddit Pro Trends is the free control group for any paid listening trial. It shows conversations about tracked terms, communities where they appear, and, for supported smart keywords, volume and related terms. That makes it useful for learning what to monitor before you pay for a larger filter set.

Reddit says the tool is in beta for eligible businesses and organizations. Standard keywords surface posts, comments, and communities; smart keywords add richer volume and related-term insights where available. The official documentation says there is currently no limit on the number of terms tracked in Trends. The limits are elsewhere: its dashboard excludes private, banned, quarantined, not-safe-for-work, and some sensitive communities, and it currently aggregates English conversations. It also bars downloading other users’ posts and comments from Pro. Compare any third-party alert against this native view, but do not assume either one represents every conversation on Reddit.

Why it made the list

  • No subscription cost for eligible organizations
  • Native post, comment, and community context
  • Smart keyword trends where supported

Watch the trade-off

Eligibility and English/public-content limits apply. Reddit Pro is a research dashboard, not a fully exportable listening database.

4

F5Bot

Email-first alerts for exact phrases

F5Bot website screenshot

F5Bot is the low-friction option for exact keyword monitoring across Reddit, Hacker News, and Lobsters. It is useful when you need an alert in an inbox, not a dashboard with sentiment charts and client reports.

F5Bot’s current tier table lists five keywords and up to 20 daily alerts on Free. The important commercial detail is easy to miss: Free and the $12.99 Silver tier are marked personal, non-commercial. Gold is the business plan at $49.99 monthly, with 200 keywords, 5,000 daily alerts, 90 days of match history, instant or scheduled delivery, RSS/JSON feeds, Slack or Discord, and limited AI filtering. That is a strong allowance for a broad watchlist, but a match is just a match; there is no claim that the author is a prospect. For a common-word brand, test exclusions carefully to prevent a flood of false positives.

Why it made the list

  • Simple email-driven setup
  • Large commercial keyword allowance
  • Business tier adds history, feeds, and team delivery

Watch the trade-off

The free plan is not licensed for business monitoring, and raw keyword matches need manual interpretation.

5

Octolens

Cross-channel B2B listening and agent workflows

Octolens website screenshot

Octolens is the choice when Reddit is only one of the places where a B2B product is discussed. Its plan includes community and social sources, AI relevance scoring, Slack and email alerts, and API, webhook, and MCP access, so one workflow can feed customer support, product research, or an internal agent.

The Pro plan is $199 monthly or $159 per month billed annually. It includes ten keywords, 15,000 mentions, hourly refresh, unlimited seats, and two years of data history. Scale is $599 monthly or $499 annually, with 40 keywords, 50,000 mentions, real-time refresh, and additional web, news, newsletter, and podcast sources. The pricing page says extra Pro mentions cost $0.013 each and can be capped or disabled. That overage model is worth checking if you monitor a generic term or a large brand. Octolens is hard to justify for a founder tracking only two Reddit phrases, but makes more sense when a developer-relations or support team already acts on mentions across several communities.

Why it made the list

  • Reddit plus developer and social communities
  • API, webhooks, and MCP on published plans
  • AI relevance scoring and unlimited seats

Watch the trade-off

The entry price and mention-based overages are high for a Reddit-only use case. Pro refreshes hourly rather than in real time.

6

Awario

Boolean search and multi-source reporting

Awario website screenshot

Awario suits a marketer who wants Reddit mentions inside a broader social listening and reporting workflow. Its Reddit page documents keyword and competitor monitoring, Boolean-style filters, sentiment, and shared reports.

Starter is $49 monthly or $29 per month billed annually and lists three topics and 30,000 new mentions monthly. Pro rises to $149 monthly or $89 annually for 15 topics and more reporting capacity. Awario says it usually detects new Reddit mentions within a couple of minutes, but that is its own claim. It does not support Reddit’s native search operators; its own AND, OR, NEAR, exclusions, and author filters do the narrowing. The vendor’s pricing page and help documentation disagree about whether Starter includes export and white-label reporting, so confirm those capabilities in the trial before making a client-reporting decision.

Why it made the list

  • Boolean-style query control
  • Reddit monitoring alongside other social sources
  • Published monthly and annual entry prices

Watch the trade-off

Public documentation conflicts on Starter export and white-label access. Subreddit targeting is less explicit than Syften’s.

7

Brand24

Brand reporting when Reddit is one of many sources

Brand24 website screenshot

Brand24 belongs on the shortlist when leadership wants a single brand-monitoring dashboard across forums, social networks, news, and other web sources. It documents public Reddit monitoring, sentiment and trend reporting, and filtering to Reddit as a source.

The published Individual plan is $249 monthly or $199 per month annually for three keywords, 2,000 monthly mentions, one user, and a twelve-hour update cadence. Team is $349 monthly or $299 annually, with seven keywords, 10,000 mentions, unlimited users, and hourly updates. Those limits explain why it ranks last for Reddit-only listening: the entry plan costs much more than Syften or KWatch while refreshing less often. Its value is the broader brand and PR picture. Ask for a sample Reddit export and verify post versus comment coverage, source filtering, and how a mention is counted during the trial.

Why it made the list

  • Broad brand-monitoring context beyond Reddit
  • Sentiment and volume reporting
  • Published keyword, mention, and update limits

Watch the trade-off

High entry price and twelve-hour Individual refresh are poor fit for time-sensitive Reddit replies.

How we chose and ranked these picks

We ranked for the actual monitoring workflow: new post and comment capture, query precision, subreddit targeting, noise reduction, alert delivery, history, and commercial price. We weighted Reddit-specific detection more heavily than broad dashboard features. Each price and plan limit was taken from the vendor’s current public pages, linked beside its entry.

We did not pay for accounts or conduct a controlled recall and latency test. The vendor’s statements about coverage and speed should be verified with your own brand, competitor, and problem phrases during a trial. We left GummySearch out because its founder says new signups and renewals ended in November 2025 and the service closes in December 2026.

How to choose

Test posts and comments separately

Create one uncommon brand query and one common category query. Check whether the trial catches mentions in both thread starters and nested comments. A tool that catches only titles can miss the recommendation conversations that matter most.

Measure false positives before buying more keywords

Review a week of results. Count how many matches are useful, then add subreddit, author, phrase, or exclusion filters. The cheapest plan is rarely cheap if a person spends an hour every day clearing irrelevant alerts.

Price the delivery path

An email alert is sufficient for a founder who checks daily. A support or sales team may need Slack, webhooks, API, an archive, and more than one seat. Compare those plan tiers, not only the advertised starter rate.

Ask about data access

Reddit’s Responsible Builder Policy requires explicit written approval for commercial use of its data. Ask the vendor how it maintains access, what content it can retain or export, and what happens to your saved filters and history if Reddit changes access terms.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Reddit social listening tool for a small business?

Syften is the best focused paid option for a small business that needs precise Reddit post and comment alerts. KWatch is a less expensive way to begin with a smaller watchlist, while eligible businesses should also use free Reddit Pro Trends as a native baseline.

Does F5Bot monitor Reddit comments as well as posts?

F5Bot says it checks Reddit for keyword matches and sends alerts when they appear. Its tier page explicitly describes Reddit monitoring, but a buyer should test nested comment coverage with their own terms during a trial before relying on it for complete recall.

Can KWatch send Reddit keyword alerts to Slack?

KWatch lists Slack, API, webhooks, and MCP on its $79 monthly Business plan. Its free and $19 Essential plans do not include those integrations.

Is GummySearch still available to new customers?

GummySearch is closed to new signups, purchases, and renewals. Its published closure schedule says existing paid customers can retain access through their current terms before a complete shutdown on December 1, 2026.

Can any Reddit monitoring tool capture every private community and direct message?

No public monitoring tool should be assumed to cover private communities or direct messages. Reddit Pro explicitly excludes private, banned, quarantined, and not-safe-for-work communities from its Trends data, and third-party coverage should be checked against each vendor’s documented permissions.

The decision

Use Reddit Pro Trends to learn your baseline, then trial Syften with your actual brand, competitor, and buyer-question filters. Choose KWatch if the smaller paid watchlist is enough; choose Octolens when the team acts on mentions from many networks. Before committing annually, run a one-week capture audit and compare useful matches, missed comments, alert delay, and the full tier needed to deliver results to your team.
