Pricing reality. Across the top 12 affiliate platforms we tested, median list price is $79/month for the lowest paid tier. The effective price indie founders actually pay — after Black Friday lifetime deals, free-tier creative use, and self-built alternatives — is closer to $0–$29/month. Three of the “top 12” never charge an indie founder a cent before $10K MRR, because their pricing scales with affiliate volume.
Pricing model breakdown. Of the 12: 5 are flat per-seat (sticky but expensive at scale), 4 are usage-based (cheap early, hostile later), 2 are revenue-share (no upfront, painful at scale), and 1 is lifetime-deal only (you pay once, but the company's survival is the open question).
Positioning gap #1. No platform under $50/month ships native LLM-citation tracking for affiliate links. Two indie tools are building toward this — both pre-revenue at time of writing, both targeting Q2 2026 launch. This is the single most defensible niche in the category right now, and it's wide open.
Positioning gap #2. The “solo affiliate doing under $5K MRR” segment is structurally underserved. Enterprise platforms ignore them (CAC doesn't work); creator-tier tools target lifestyle creators, not B2B SaaS affiliates. A purpose-built B2B solo-affiliate stack would have minimal competition.
Honest critical note. Two of the “best-rated” platforms on G2 (we'll name them in the full report) score poorly on our rubric for onboarding and pricing transparency. G2's rating is heavily influenced by enterprise reviews; for indie founders they are not the right pick despite the badges.
Verdict. The market is overserved at the enterprise tier and underserved for solo affiliates running under $5K MRR. Two clear niches are open. A new entrant focused on either gap could reach $10K MRR within 12 months on organic distribution alone.

Independence & disclosure
The reports are research products. The companion roundup articles are editorial. Both follow the rules below.
Reports are produced independently. Vendors and brands do not pay for placement in reports, and cannot buy their way to a higher rubric score. The rubric is the same for every product in every market.
Brands may request editorial inclusion in the roundup article on a sponsored basis. Any sponsored mention is clearly labeled, ranked editorially, and uses rel="sponsored nofollow" on outbound links. Sponsored placements never alter rubric scores or report findings.
No ranking purchases. Top-of-list slots in any roundup are determined by the rubric. Sponsored brands appear with a visible sponsored tag, in the rank position the rubric places them.
Conflicts of interest are disclosed. If the reviewer has any financial relationship with a tool covered in a report — affiliate, advisor, investor, or otherwise — it is disclosed in writing inside the report.
Optional roundup inclusion
If you build a tool in a market we cover, you can request editorial inclusion in the roundup article that accompanies that market's report.
- Sponsored, clearly disclosed editorial placement in the roundup article
- Outbound links use
rel="sponsored nofollow" - Editorial ranking by rubric — no paid top-of-list
- Pricing and scope discussed per market — reach out for details
