10 Best Link Building Agencies in 2026 (Ranked by Link Model, Penalty Risk, and Verified Reviews)
The 10 best link building agencies in 2026 — Siege Media, uSERP, Page One Power, Fractl, Editorial.Link, dofollow.com, Search Intelligence, Stellar SEO, Outreach Monks, and LinkBuilder.io. Ranked by how each one actually gets links, penalty risk, verified Clutch reviews, and real per-link pricing — by a team with no links to sell.

Most "best link building agency" lists are written by link building agencies.
We read the lists that rank for this search. Of the seven we could open, five were published by SEO or PR agencies, and four of those ranked themselves first. Another put a per-link vendor at #1 while talking about "white hat" links. None of them told you the thing that matters most: how each agency gets its links, and how much risk that carries. Superframeworks sells no links and took no placement fees. So every agency below carries a label for its link model (earned, outreach mix, or paid placements), its verified Clutch record, and its real published pricing.
Key Takeaways
- The most important question about a link building agency is not its DR promises — it is how it gets the links. We sort every agency into three models: earned (digital PR and linkable content, lowest risk), mixed (manual outreach with some paid or inserted placements), and paid per-link placements (fastest and cheapest, highest policy risk). Every entry carries that label.
- Best overall for funded startups: Siege Media (Clutch 4.9/5 across 48 reviews), which earns links through content and digital PR instead of buying them. Best for SaaS with a $5,500+/mo budget: uSERP. Best white-hat custom outreach: Page One Power. Best data-driven digital PR at scale: Fractl.
- Best for bootstrapped founders who want predictable pricing: Editorial.Link ($375 per link, or $1,750 for five, with a trial link first — and the deepest review base here at 5.0/5 across 81 Clutch reviews). Cheapest managed plan: Outreach Monks from $599/mo for five links, month to month.
- Real 2026 link prices, per BuzzStream’s September 2026 pricing study: guest posts average $295 bought direct or $461 through a vendor, link insertions average $179, and digital PR works out to $1,250–$1,500 per linking domain. Anything far below those numbers is a warning sign, not a bargain.
- Google’s spam policies treat paid links without rel="sponsored" as a link scheme, and Google says ranking gains from links its SpamBrain system neutralizes "cannot be regained." That is why we rank earned-link agencies above cheaper per-link vendors — and why we left five popular vendors off the main list entirely.
- Links now do double duty. Ahrefs’ study of 75,000 brands found brand web mentions correlated 0.664 with AI Overview visibility versus 0.218 for backlinks — so an agency that earns real editorial mentions helps you in Google and in ChatGPT, while a link that exists only to pass PageRank increasingly helps with neither.
Picking one of the best link building agencies is easy to get wrong in two ways. Hire a cheap per-link vendor and you can spend $10,000 on links Google quietly ignores. Hire a premium digital PR shop too early and you burn two quarters of runway before the first link lands. The fix is to understand what you are actually buying.
Every agency gets links in one of three ways. Earned agencies create something worth citing — data, tools, expert commentary — and pitch it to journalists and editors. Outreach-mix agencies do manual outreach for resource pages, broken links, and guest contributions, sometimes with paid or inserted placements mixed in. Paid-placement agencies sell links per piece, placed on sites in a publisher network. Google's spam policies treat paid links without rel="sponsored" as a link scheme, so the model is a direct proxy for risk.
We ranked ten agencies across all three models so a seed-stage founder with $600 a month and a Series B marketing lead with $15,000 a month both find a real answer. Each entry tells you how the agency gets links, what it costs (from published pricing wherever it exists), what its verified reviews say, and who should not hire it. If what you really need is press coverage rather than links, our ranking of the best digital PR agencies covers that job. For full-service SEO, see the best SEO agencies.

Siege Media
Best Overall — Links Earned Through Content and Digital PR, Not Bought

Siege Media is a content and digital PR agency founded in 2012 by Ross Hudgens, with offices in San Diego, Austin, Chicago, New York, and San Francisco and a team of 70+. Instead of buying placements, it builds "low difficulty, high link intent" content — data pages, tools, statistics hubs — and then promotes it through product-led digital PR to a network of 7,500+ media contacts. Its link-building clients include The Zebra (1,580+ links in insurance), Vena Solutions (a 2,300% increase in links), and Bluevine (733 links).
Siege Media is the strongest overall pick because it pairs the lowest-risk link model with the deepest verified record of any earned-link agency here: a 4.9/5 Clutch rating across 48 reviews. Its links come from content journalists actually want to cite, which is the only kind of link that also compounds into AI-search visibility — and Siege runs a dedicated GEO service (Ross Hudgens literally wrote the Wiley book on Generative Engine Optimization). Siege says its effective cost per earned link lands under $250. The honest trade-offs are speed and budget: first links typically arrive around month four, digital PR programs start around $12,000–$15,000 per month, and GEO work carries a six-month minimum.
What They Do Best
- Earned links from linkable content and product-led digital PR — no paid placements
- Deepest verified record among earned-link shops: Clutch 4.9/5 across 48 reviews
- Named results: The Zebra 1,580+ links, Vena Solutions +2,300% links, Bluevine 733 links
- Dedicated GEO service; founder Ross Hudgens authored Wiley’s "Generative Engine Optimization"
- Stated effective cost per earned link under $250
Pricing
From ~$12,000/mo. Digital PR "starts around $12–15,000 per month" per Siege; Clutch lists a $5,000+ minimum at $100–$149/hr.
Verified Rating
4.9/5 — Clutch (48 reviews)
Best For
Series A+ SaaS, fintech, and consumer brands that want durable, earned links and AI-search visibility — and can wait four months for the first results.
Pros
- Lowest-risk link model on this list — every link is earned
- Deepest verified review base of any earned-link agency (4.9/48)
- Links double as the brand mentions AI engines cite
- Named, concrete link-volume results across competitive verticals
Cons
- Slow: first links around month four, GEO requires six months
- $12,000+/mo for digital PR — out of reach for seed-stage budgets
“They’re the absolute best in this business.”— VP of Marketing, Smith.ai, on ClutchVisit Siege Media
uSERP
Best for Funded SaaS — Published Per-Link Economics and Enterprise Placements

uSERP is a SaaS and B2B link-building agency founded in 2019 in Lone Tree, Colorado, led by CEO and co-founder Jeremy Moser. Its program mixes editorial outreach, unclaimed brand mentions, guest contributions, resource pages, digital PR, and contextual link insertions. Named clients include monday.com, CrowdStrike, Robinhood, Freshworks, and ActiveCampaign.
uSERP is the best pick for a funded SaaS team that wants a recognized link partner with unusually transparent economics: its pricing page publishes tiers from $5,500/mo (five DR60+ and ten DR20–59 links) to $15,000/mo, and states per-link values of $600–$900 for DR60+ and $250–$375 for DR20–59. Its verified record is strong — Clutch 4.9/5 across 21 reviews — and its monday.com case study reports organic traffic growing from 677,000 to 1.2 million monthly visits. It also runs a dedicated AI SEO / GEO service with AEO-focused links and brand mentions. Two caveats: its mix includes contextual link insertions, so ask how each placement is sourced, and its own pricing page gives conflicting contract terms (a three-month initial term in the tier tables, six months in the FAQ).
What They Do Best
- Published tiers: Launch $5,500/mo, Accelerate $10,000/mo, Dominate $15,000/mo
- Stated per-link value: DR60+ $600–$900, DR20–59 $250–$375
- Verified Clutch 4.9/5 across 21 reviews
- monday.com case study: 677,000 to 1.2M monthly organic visits
- Dedicated AI SEO / GEO service with AEO-focused links and brand mentions
Pricing
From $5,500/mo. Published tiers: Launch $5,500, Accelerate $10,000, Dominate $15,000 per month.
Verified Rating
4.9/5 — Clutch (21 reviews)
Best For
Funded SaaS and B2B startups with $5,500–$15,000/mo that want enterprise-grade placements and published per-link math.
Pros
- Rare published per-link economics for a premium agency
- Strong verified record (4.9/21) and big-name SaaS clients
- Real GEO / AEO offering tied to link and mention building
- SaaS-native — understands product-led and comparison-page SEO
Cons
- Includes contextual link insertions — ask how placements are sourced
- Conflicting contract terms on its own pricing page (3 vs 6 months)
“We’re happy that they focused more on building quality links from good sites.”— CEO, Ranktracker, on ClutchVisit uSERP
Page One Power
Best White-Hat Custom Outreach — Methodical, Relevant Links at a Lower Entry Point

Page One Power is a Boise, Idaho link-building agency founded by brothers Jon and Zach Ball (it started around 2010 as a dental SEO practice and rebranded in 2012). It builds links through custom manual outreach — resource-page links, broken-link building, unlinked brand mentions, guest contributions, digital PR, and "editorial update" outreach to existing articles — and creates linkable content when a site has nothing worth linking to.
Page One Power is the best pick for a startup that wants a patient, fully custom, white-hat link partner without Siege-level budgets: Clutch lists a $1,000+ minimum, and its reviews average 4.7/5 across 17 reviews. Its case studies are specific and SaaS-heavy — Atera gained 29 links in six months alongside a 306% lift in monthly organic sessions, and Domotz gained 48 links (average DA 53) in 12 months with ranking keywords up 78%. It also offers an AI Search Optimization service covering prompt benchmarking, llms.txt, and brand citations. The trade-offs: pricing sits behind a gated pricing sheet, and link volumes are deliberately modest (29–48 links over six to 12 months), so it suits steady compounding rather than fast scaling.
What They Do Best
- Custom manual outreach across resource pages, broken links, and unlinked mentions
- Verified Clutch 4.7/5 across 17 reviews; $1,000+ minimum
- Atera: 29 links in six months, +306% monthly organic sessions
- Domotz: 48 links (avg. DA 53) in 12 months, ranking keywords +78%
- AI Search Optimization service with AI-visibility reporting
Pricing
Custom. Clutch lists a $1,000+ minimum; the pricing sheet is gated behind a form.
Verified Rating
4.7/5 — Clutch (17 reviews)
Best For
Startups and SaaS teams that want patient, relevant, fully white-hat links at a lower entry point than premium PR shops.
Pros
- Genuinely white-hat, outreach-earned links
- Specific, named SaaS case studies with real numbers
- Low $1,000+ Clutch minimum for a custom program
- Builds linkable assets when you have nothing to link to
Cons
- Gated pricing — no published numbers
- Modest link volumes; not built for rapid scaling
“They’re the best link-building company I’ve worked with.”— Sr. SEO Manager, debt relief company, on ClutchVisit Page One Power
Fractl
Best Data-Driven Digital PR — Hundreds of Referring Domains per Year

Fractl is a data-journalism digital PR agency founded in 2012 in Delray Beach, Florida. It earns links by publishing original research, surveys, and interactive tools, then pitching them to top-tier media, backed by reactive PR and an always-on expert-quote program. Its results are measured in referring domains, not individual placements.
Fractl is the right pick when you want link volume from high-authority publications and have (or can create) a data story: its Porch.com work earned links from 931 unique domains in one year, Beyond Identity gained 634 new referring domains (+67.2%) over 15 months alongside +189.5% traffic, and nine campaigns for Adobe earned 390 new referring domains. Its Clutch record is deep — 4.8/5 across 37 reviews. The trade-offs are control and cost: digital PR produces links in campaign-driven spikes to your research pages, not to a specific money page with a chosen anchor, and pricing is unpublished with Clutch listing a $5,000+ minimum and real programs running well above it.
What They Do Best
- Original-research and data-journalism campaigns pitched to top-tier media
- Porch.com: links from 931 unique domains in one year
- Beyond Identity: 634 new referring domains (+67.2%) in 15 months
- Verified Clutch 4.8/5 across 37 reviews
- Positioned around AI visibility and LLM brand mentions
Pricing
Custom. Clutch lists a $5,000+ minimum at $100–$149/hr; campaigns typically run well above it.
Verified Rating
4.8/5 — Clutch (37 reviews)
Best For
Well-funded startups and brands with a data story that want high-authority press links at scale.
Pros
- Highest referring-domain volume of any earned-link shop here
- Links from genuinely top-tier publications
- Deep verified record (4.8/37)
- Coverage doubles as AI-citable brand mentions
Cons
- No control over anchors or which pages get linked
- Opaque pricing aimed at larger budgets
“It feels like a true partnership; they’re not just a vendor but a partner for us.”— Online work marketplace client, on ClutchVisit Fractl

Editorial.Link
Best for Bootstrapped SaaS — Pay-Per-Link Pricing With a Trial Link First

Editorial.Link is a productized link-building agency that grew out of the media publisher Admix Global (founded 2016) and launched as Editorial.Link in 2020. It places editorial backlinks, listicle mentions, and brand mentions through a network of established publishers, plus digital PR and HARO-style journalist outreach, with a stated DR 60+ minimum and every new client getting a trial link before committing.
Editorial.Link is the best pick for a bootstrapped founder who wants predictable, no-retainer pricing: $375 for a single link, $1,750 for five ($350 each), or $6,000 for 20 ($300 each), with as few as one link a month. It also has the deepest review base on this entire list — Clutch 5.0/5 across 81 reviews — and client results like Belkins growing organic traffic from 4,181 to 15,900 monthly visits with roughly 60 links over 12 months. The honest trade-off is the model itself: these are paid placements through a publisher network, which Google’s policies treat as link schemes unless marked sponsored, so vet the sites in your trial link carefully and keep volume proportionate.
What They Do Best
- Published pricing: $375/link, $1,750 for 5, $6,000 for 20
- Trial link before any commitment; order as few as one link a month
- Deepest review base on this list: Clutch 5.0/5 across 81 reviews
- Belkins: ~60 links in 12 months, organic traffic 4,181 to 15,900/mo
- Listicle and brand-mention placements marketed for AI-search visibility
Pricing
From $375/link. Published packages: Startup $1,750 (5 links), Growth $6,000 (20 links), Bespoke custom.
Verified Rating
5/5 — Clutch (81 reviews)
Best For
Bootstrapped SaaS founders who want predictable per-link pricing, a trial link, and no retainer.
Pros
- The most-reviewed agency on this list (5.0/81 on Clutch)
- Transparent per-link pricing with no retainer
- Trial link lets you inspect quality before paying more
- High stated DR floor (60+)
Cons
- Paid placements carry link-scheme policy risk
- Little strategy or content-asset depth below the Bespoke tier
“We particularly appreciate this team’s trustworthiness, knowing that they deliver high-quality backlinks.”— Binary Studio, on ClutchVisit Editorial.Link
dofollow.com
Best B2B SaaS Specialist — Links, Listicle Placements, and AI-Answer Visibility

dofollow.com (formerly dofollow.io) is a B2B SaaS-only link-building agency founded in 2017 that claims 300+ SaaS clients and 17,000+ links. It builds editorial links, brand mentions, and placements in listicles and comparison pages — the "best X tools" articles buyers actually read — and packages AI-answer visibility work as its AnswerOS program.
dofollow.com is the best pick for a B2B SaaS founder who wants a specialist that thinks in terms of buyer-consideration pages, not just DR: its Heymarket case study reports organic traffic growing from 7,500 to 45,000 monthly visits in 14 months at an average linking DR of 77+, and NectarHR went from DR 29 to 74 with 280+ links. It scores 5.0/5 on Clutch, but across only three reviews. Know two things before you sign: pricing is "request only," and it does not disclose which listicle placements are paid — ask directly, because a paid listicle slot is sponsored content.
What They Do Best
- B2B SaaS-only focus (300+ SaaS clients claimed)
- Listicle and comparison-page placements where buyers research
- Heymarket: 7.5K to 45K monthly organic visits in 14 months
- NectarHR: DR 29 to 74 with 280+ links
- AnswerOS program for AI-answer visibility
Pricing
Custom. "Request pricing" only; Clutch lists a $1,000+ minimum at $150–$199/hr.
Verified Rating
5/5 — Clutch (3 reviews)
Best For
Seed to Series B B2B SaaS teams that want SaaS-relevant links plus visibility in "best tools" listicles and AI answers.
Pros
- Pure B2B SaaS specialization
- Targets the listicle and comparison pages that drive SaaS purchases
- Named SaaS case studies with real traffic numbers
- Productized AI-answer visibility offering
Cons
- Very thin review base (3 Clutch reviews)
- Opaque pricing; paid vs earned placements not disclosed
Search Intelligence
Best Fixed-Price Digital PR — £5.5K per Campaign, 10 Links Guaranteed

Search Intelligence is a UK digital PR agency founded in 2014 and based in Witney, England, led by CEO Fery Kaszoni. It earns links purely through reactive PR, expert commentary, and data campaigns, states that its links are "never paid, never sponsored," and claims 250+ active clients and 50,000+ placements in outlets like The Telegraph, BBC, and Forbes.
Search Intelligence is the only earned-link agency here with a published, outcome-based price: £5,500 per campaign with a minimum of 10 links guaranteed, no long-term contract, and free re-runs until the promised links land. That removes the biggest risk of digital PR for a startup — paying a retainer for a campaign that flops. Client Lake.com reports 342 earned media placements across 13 campaigns. The caveats are proof and relevance: it has no Clutch reviews despite a decade in business, and its placements lean toward UK national and tabloid press, which is great for authority but rarely topically relevant to a niche SaaS product.
What They Do Best
- Published price: £5,500 per campaign, minimum 10 links guaranteed
- No long-term contract; free re-runs until links land
- Earned-only model — "never paid, never sponsored"
- Lake.com: 342 earned placements across 13 campaigns
- Claims 250+ active clients and 50,000+ placements
Pricing
From £5,500 per campaign (10-link minimum guarantee). Clutch lists a $5,000+ minimum.
Verified Rating
No Clutch reviews despite operating since 2014 — the proof is its published guarantee and named case studies (Lake.com), not a third-party rating.
Best For
Founders who want penalty-safe, high-authority press links at a fixed, guaranteed price — without a retainer.
Pros
- Guaranteed link count at a fixed published price
- Earned-only links with the lowest penalty risk
- No long-term contract
- High-authority national press placements
Cons
- Zero Clutch reviews — no verifiable third-party review base
- UK-press heavy; topical relevance for niche SaaS can be weak
Stellar SEO
Best Transparent Monthly Plans — Published Per-Link and Package Pricing

Stellar SEO is a Nashville link-building agency founded in 2012 by Travis Bliffen, with back-to-back Inc. 5000 placements in 2024 and 2025. It sells per-link guest posts and niche edits, monthly link plans, custom outreach built on its "Entity-Driven Link Building System," and white-label fulfilment for other agencies — with a track record weighted toward legal and financial services.
Stellar SEO is the best pick for a founder who wants published monthly plans from an agency with a spotless verified record: Clutch 5.0/5 across 18 reviews, plans at $2,500/mo for eight links or $5,000/mo for 16, and per-link guest posts from $297 (DA30+) to $600 (DA50+) or niche edits at $225. Its anonymized DSCR-lender case study reports growth from 3,000 to 36,000 monthly visitors. The important caveat: its pricing page advertises "Do-Follow Links / No Sponsored Tags" on paid placements, which is exactly what Google’s spam policies define as a link scheme — a choice you should make knowingly — and its case studies lean on finance and legal rather than SaaS.
What They Do Best
- Monthly plans: $2,500/mo (8 links), $5,000/mo (16 links)
- Per-link guest posts: $297 (DA30+), $397 (DA40+), $600 (DA50+); niche edits $225
- Perfect verified Clutch rating: 5.0/5 across 18 reviews
- Inc. 5000 in 2024 and 2025
- AI SEO / GEO service checking publisher visibility in AI answers
Pricing
From $2,500/mo (8 links). Per-link guest posts from $297; niche edits $225/link.
Verified Rating
5/5 — Clutch (18 reviews)
Best For
Founders in finance, legal, and other competitive niches who want published plans and accept the paid-link trade-off.
Pros
- Perfect verified Clutch record (5.0/18)
- Fully published plan and per-link pricing
- Strong track record in competitive finance and legal niches
- Clear communication praised across reviews
Cons
- Advertises paid dofollow links with "no sponsored tags" — policy risk
- Case studies are anonymized and light on SaaS
“They always take the time to thoughtfully explain everything they’re working on. We’re always informed.”— Marketing Manager, Visio Financial Services, on ClutchVisit Stellar SEO
Outreach Monks
Best on a Tight Budget — Month-to-Month Plans From $599

Outreach Monks is a manual-outreach link-building agency founded in 2017 by Sahil Ahuja, with a 70+ person team and a white-label offering for agencies. It sells guest posts and niche edits by DR tier and managed monthly packages, states "No PBNs," and offers a six-month link replacement guarantee plus an "AI-First Brand Mentions" service.
Outreach Monks is the most affordable way on this list to get a managed monthly link program: plans start at $599/mo for five links and run month to month, with individual guest posts from $99 (DR20+) to $399 (DR70+). Its Clutch profile is solid at 4.9/5 across 12 reviews, and it reports a 455% organic lift in six months for SaaS client Raven360. Keep expectations calibrated: these are paid placements, not earned links; third-party reviewers note uneven topical relevance and AI-sounding article copy; and its homepage claim of "320+ verified reviews" is far above the roughly 18 we could verify on Clutch and Trustpilot.
What They Do Best
- Managed plans from $599/mo (5 links), month to month
- Per-link guest posts: $99 (DR20+) to $399 (DR70+)
- Verified Clutch 4.9/5 across 12 reviews
- Six-month link replacement guarantee
- Raven360 (SaaS): +455% organic growth in six months
Pricing
From $599/mo (5 links). Plans up to $5,999/mo; guest posts $99–$399 per link by DR.
Verified Rating
4.9/5 — Clutch (12 reviews)
Best For
Pre-seed and bootstrapped founders who want a low-cost, cancel-anytime managed link program.
Pros
- Lowest entry price for a managed program on this list
- Month-to-month — no long commitment
- Fully published per-link and plan pricing
- Replacement guarantee on lost links
Cons
- Paid placements with uneven topical relevance
- Marketing claims ("320+ verified reviews") outrun what we could verify
LinkBuilder.io
Best Hands-Off Retainer — DR 50+ Links, Fully Managed

LinkBuilder.io is a fully managed link-building agency founded in 2016 in Edinburgh and acquired in 2023 by Next Net Media — the same parent company that owns The HOTH and Authority Builders. It sells monthly retainers of outreach links from DR 50–90 sites rather than a per-link menu, plus an Earned Media PR product and AI-visibility packages. Its Clutch reviews name clients including Udemy, SoFi, and TripAdvisor.
LinkBuilder.io fits a funded startup that wants to hand off link building entirely: published retainers start at $2,999/mo for eight DR 50–90 links and scale to $19,999/mo for 53+, with Earned Media PR at $3,500/mo. It holds a 4.6/5 Clutch rating across 14 reviews and reports an unnamed document-converter client growing from 4,900 to 226,000 monthly visits with 179 links over 28 months. Two things to weigh: at roughly $375 per link on the entry plan it is not cheap, and its common ownership with The HOTH and Authority Builders — both of which we left off this list — is not prominently disclosed on its site.
What They Do Best
- Fully managed retainers of DR 50–90 links
- Published plans: $2,999/mo (8 links) to $19,999/mo (53+ links)
- Earned Media PR product at $3,500/mo
- Verified Clutch 4.6/5 across 14 reviews
- AI Starter and AI Growth visibility packages
Pricing
From $2,999/mo (8 links). Published tiers up to $19,999/mo.
Verified Rating
4.6/5 — Clutch (14 reviews)
Best For
Funded startups that want a hands-off monthly retainer of high-DR links and are comfortable with the price per link.
Pros
- Fully managed — no marketplace browsing or per-link decisions
- Published retainer pricing with a DR 50–90 floor
- Solid verified record (4.6/14)
- Earned-media PR option alongside outreach
Cons
- ~$375 per link on the entry plan
- Shares an owner with The HOTH and Authority Builders; not prominently disclosed
Popular Link Vendors We Left Off (and Why)
Five names show up on almost every competing list. We left them off on purpose. Most are productized per-link vendors built for agencies to resell, which is the model with the highest policy risk. Their public reviews also contain complaints we could not ignore.
The HOTH sells link outreach from $150 per link (DA/DR 20+) and has 272 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.5, but its only Clutch review is 2.0/5, and that reviewer wrote that "every link we got was spam, which lowered our ranking." Several 2025–2026 Trustpilot reviewers also report traffic declines after five-figure spends. Authority Builders, a guest-post marketplace from $160 that shares a parent company with The HOTH and LinkBuilder.io, has zero Clutch reviews. Its Trustpilot reviews include allegations of low-quality network links and a claimed unfulfilled $22,250 order, and it openly sells links in gambling, adult, and pharma niches.
Loganix (Trustpilot 4.5 across 114 reviews) is a capable self-serve marketplace for agencies, but quality depends on what you pick, and a recent reviewer described its inventory as mostly link farms. FATJOE (Trustpilot 4.8 across 472 reviews) sells blogger outreach from about $72 per link on DR10+ sites and describes its own product as "ghost posts, not guest posts." That pattern of cheap undisclosed posts on small blogs is exactly the footprint that gets neutralized. Rhino Rank (Trustpilot 4.5 across 188 reviews) sells curated niche edits from $60. In a September 2026 review, a buyer reported that 18 of their 31 target pages showed no links in Google Search Console after 68 placements. All five can work for an agency that knows exactly what it is buying. None is where we would send a founder spending their own runway.
Worth a look but not ranked: Digital Olympus is a digital PR and expert-commentary shop run by a well-known SEO operator, with testimonials from Kevin Indig and John Doherty, but it has no published pricing and almost no verifiable reviews.
How We Chose These Link Building Agencies
We started from more than 20 agencies. They came from the eight top-ranking "best link building agency" lists and from Clutch's link building directory. For each one we checked the official site, the pricing page, the Clutch profile, and Trustpilot where it existed. We did not count review numbers an agency reports about itself unless we could verify them.
- Link model and risk — how the agency gets its links (earned, outreach mix, or paid placements), weighted most heavily
- Verifiable proof — Clutch ratings with review counts, plus named case studies with real numbers (anonymized results count for less)
- Pricing transparency — published per-link, package, or campaign pricing ranked above "book a call"
- Founder fit — a spread of budgets from $599/mo to $15,000/mo, with a bias toward SaaS and startup track records
- Independence — we sell no links and took no placement fees. We also flag undisclosed common ownership where we found it
How to Choose a Link Building Agency by Budget
Start with your monthly budget and how much risk you can accept, then match it to an agency:
Under $1,000/mo...
Outreach Monks from $599/mo, month to month, or a handful of Editorial.Link links from $375 each. Keep volume low and inspect every host site.
$1,000–$5,000/mo...
Page One Power for white-hat custom outreach, or Stellar SEO and LinkBuilder.io for published monthly plans.
You want earned links without a retainer...
Search Intelligence at £5,500 per campaign with 10 links guaranteed and no long-term contract.
You're B2B SaaS...
uSERP from $5,500/mo for enterprise-grade placements, or dofollow.com for listicle and comparison-page visibility.
$10,000+/mo and playing the long game...
Siege Media for earned links plus GEO, or Fractl if you have a data story that can win top-tier press.
Five questions to ask any agency...
Can I see 10 live placements? Do your host sites sell links publicly? What happens if a link is removed? Who owns your company? Do you report AI citations as well as links?

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best link building agency in 2026?
Siege Media is the best overall link building agency for funded startups in 2026: it earns links through linkable content and digital PR rather than buying them, and holds a 4.9/5 Clutch rating across 48 reviews. For SaaS teams with $5,500+/mo, uSERP publishes per-link economics and has a 4.9/5 Clutch rating across 21 reviews. For bootstrapped founders, Editorial.Link sells links from $375 each with a trial link first and has the deepest review base on this list (5.0/5 across 81 Clutch reviews). The right choice depends on your budget and how much penalty risk you will accept.
How much do link building services cost in 2026?
Link building prices in 2026, per BuzzStream’s September 2026 pricing study, average $295 per guest post bought direct ($461 through a vendor), $179 per link insertion, and $1,250–$1,500 per linking domain for digital PR. On this list, managed plans start at $599/mo for five links (Outreach Monks), per-link pricing runs $225–$600 (Stellar SEO, Editorial.Link), mid-tier retainers run $2,500–$5,500/mo (Stellar SEO, LinkBuilder.io, uSERP), and earned-link digital PR starts around £5,500 per campaign (Search Intelligence) or $12,000–$15,000/mo (Siege Media).
Is it safe for a SaaS startup to buy guest posts from a per-link vendor, or will Google penalize the site?
Buying guest posts from a per-link vendor is a link scheme under Google’s spam policies unless the links carry rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow". In practice Google’s SpamBrain system usually neutralizes paid links rather than issuing a manual penalty, but Google states that ranking benefits lost this way "cannot be regained" — so the money is wasted even when the site is not punished. Per-link vendors like Editorial.Link, Stellar SEO, and Outreach Monks can still move rankings, but safer practice is to keep paid placements to a small share of your link profile, inspect every host site for signs it sells links openly, and put most of your budget into earned links from agencies like Siege Media, Page One Power, Fractl, or Search Intelligence.
What is the difference between digital PR and link building?
Digital PR is one method of link building: it earns links by pitching newsworthy stories, data, or expert commentary to journalists, so publications link to you editorially. Link building is the broader goal and also includes manual outreach (resource pages, broken links, unlinked mentions), guest posts, and paid link insertions. Digital PR agencies like Fractl and Search Intelligence produce the lowest-risk, highest-authority links but offer little control over anchors or target pages; outreach and per-link agencies offer more control at higher policy risk. For a deeper look at the PR side, see our ranking of the best digital PR agencies.
How long does link building take to show results?
Link building usually takes three to six months to show ranking impact. Siege Media says first earned links typically arrive around month four, and Page One Power’s Atera case study shows a 306% organic-session lift over six months from 29 links. Per-link vendors place links faster — often within weeks — but placement speed is not ranking speed, and fast, high-volume link acquisition is also the pattern most likely to be neutralized.
Do backlinks still matter for AI search and ChatGPT visibility?
Backlinks matter less for AI search visibility than brand mentions do. Ahrefs’ study of 75,000 brands found brand web mentions correlated 0.664 with Google AI Overview visibility, versus 0.218 for backlinks — a correlation, not proof of cause. That favors agencies whose links come with genuine editorial mentions — Siege Media, Fractl, Page One Power, and Search Intelligence — over links that exist only to pass PageRank. Several agencies on this list, including Siege Media, uSERP, and dofollow.com, now package AI-visibility work explicitly.
What red flags should I watch for when hiring a link building agency?
The biggest red flags when hiring a link building agency are links priced far below market (under roughly $50 per link), refusal to show live example placements before you pay, host sites with "write for us" pages advertising paid posts, sudden traffic declines on the sites they place on, guaranteed DR increases, and undisclosed ownership. As one example, LinkBuilder.io, The HOTH, and Authority Builders share a parent company, Next Net Media. Also be skeptical of "best link building agency" lists: in our review of the top-ranking lists, four of seven were published by agencies that ranked themselves first.
When should a startup hire a link building agency instead of doing it in-house?
A startup should hire a link building agency once it has content worth linking to, product-market fit, and at least $2,000–$5,000 a month it can commit for six months — link building compounds slowly, and cancelling at month three wastes most of the spend. Before that, founder-led tactics work well: pitching journalist requests, fixing unlinked mentions of your brand, getting listed on integration and partner pages, and publishing one genuinely useful data asset. If budget is tight, a trial with Editorial.Link or a month-to-month plan with Outreach Monks is lower-commitment than a retainer.
The Bottom Line
The best link building agency is the one whose link model you understand and whose risk you have chosen on purpose. Low DR promises and a low per-link price do not make an agency the best choice. Ask how the links are acquired before you ask how many you get.
If you can afford it and can wait, Siege Media is the pick. It earns links, it has the verified record to prove it, and those links double as the brand mentions AI engines cite. For funded SaaS, uSERP. For white-hat custom outreach at a lower entry point, Page One Power. For earned links at a guaranteed price, Search Intelligence. On a bootstrapped budget, Editorial.Link or Outreach Monks. Keep volume modest and check every placement.
If you are pre-product-market-fit, skip the agency for now. Publish one data asset worth citing, reclaim your unlinked brand mentions, and get listed on every partner and integration page you qualify for. Those links are free, they cannot be neutralized, and they are what a good agency would start with anyway.
